Sorry, we’ve been a bit quiet lately, but everyone at Pym & Wildsmith has been hard at work making sure we can keep our customers supplied and our workforce safe during Covid-19. Now that we’ve settled in with our new environment, we thought we would show you some of the steps we’ve taken to minimise the risk of our staff while at work.
Hand Sanitation Stations Installed
While we have tried to limit staff moving between departments, in reality this just sometimes isn’t possible. That’s why we’ve installed hand sanitiser dispensers outside the main office and in other buildings around the site.
2 Meter Rules and The Buddy system
We have also tried to limit mixing between different teams, as well as still maintaining a 2-meter social distancing rule where possible. Where this is not possible, such as areas that require working in close proximity to another member of staff, we are operating a buddy system to maintain good health and safety practices while also protecting the wider workforce.
Full Time Cleaning Throughout The Site.
Despite working on a skeleton force, we have maintained the full time cleaning crew we had during normal operation, with frequent cleaning of high traffic areas such as bathrooms and break rooms being a priority.
Limiting Gatherings Where Possible.
To limit the increased risk of exposure during breaks and the start and finish of shifts, signage has been installed to discourage gatherings wherever possible when on site. Additionally, we have removed any processes that have been deemed to be high risk, such as stopping the use of the biometric scanner for clocking on and off, relying instead on team leaders for attendance checks.
This is just a snapshot of the main measures we have taken, if you would like to view the full risk assessment for Covid-19, you can do so here. While it may not be perfect, we’re hoping that the steps we have taken will help us do our part in preventing the spread of Covid-19 within the workplace and protect the team that is working tirelessly to keep us going during this difficult time.
