On Saturday 30th July, our team (and their families) created a fun day out, raising money for charity.
We used this opportunity to champion The Brain Tumour Charity again. It’s a charity very close to our hearts and important to us to help find a cure faster.
Our charity event was held at Rocester Football Club with the main attraction being a football match.
Following on from last year’s match, we needed to play well and ensure we took the trophy home again this time. It is very important to highlight that we won 6-0 last year.
The Three Tons team from Uttoxeter played in blue, as our team played in our company colours of red, white and black.
Raising money for charity
We held lots of stalls and activities whilst the football match took place, which was great because it meant we could cater for all ages. There was face painting and glitter tattoos, a wine or water game, a sweet stall and cake stand.
The raffle was popular and attracted a lot of attention, with an array of prizes to be won. Wonderful prizes were donated, such as paintballing for 10 people, a pub lunch and pamper hamper.
Additionally, a day’s holiday off work was donated by the company and given away to the team in the raffle.
In total, we raised £1,434.66 on the day for the Brain Tumour Charity. Did you know, they are the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally?
The Brain Tumour Charity are committed to saving and improving lives of those diagnosed. This includes finding new treatments and offering the highest level of support and driving urgent changes.
We are proud to have joined together to make this donation for such a worthy cause. You can find out why here.
Overall, we’d like to say a huge thanks to the whole team, for organising such a fun and memorable day.
The final score was 8-3 to The Three Tuns.
Sadly we didn’t take home the trophy this time, however both teams played exceptionally well and we look forward to revisiting the match again.
