E-coating explained

E-coating is one of the most popular choices of finishing for a wide range of industries, in particular, the automotive industry. It can be applied fast and offers excellent results, and is, therefore, one of the most economical solutions when it comes to protecting the surfaces of your projects. E-coating is highly cost-effective, especially considering the benefits that it can offer projects. Applied as a high-quality paint, the e-coat process provides a corrosive resistant layer over metal surfaces, giving the surface quality protection that can last up to twenty years. E coating is a good choice of finish if you are looking for extra protection and coverage on your project that is tough and stands the test of time. Here at Pym and Wildsmith, as highly experience e coating suppliers, we can provide our e coat in a range of colours so you can tailor the service to meet your exact requirements.

The E-coating process

The e-coating process works by applying paint all over the parts of the project that require protection. Before the process takes place however, your project will undergo a series of preliminary treatments to prepare it for the paint. We proudly the extra mile to ensure you are going to get the best value for money; which is why we make sure the surfaces are fully cleaned and ready for the paint to guarantee the best performance from the e-coat finish. Once the surfaces are ready for paint, they will be completely submerged into a tank of e-coat paint. This method for the e-coat process is highly advantageous as it provides full coverage – something that can often not be promised with other finishing methods such as spray painting. With the surfaces being dipped into the paint, we can make sure that all of the product is covered, including areas such as holes and bends. Once fully covered, the project is left to dry, the paint dries very quickly and many projects will be ready within 24 hours.
